WORK PROCESS

My work process is often quite different, varying on what project it is. But there’s an general line of thinking of how I tackle a project.
Often times, I begin with thumbnails. I’ll think of how this project can take shape and i’ll also start writing down ideas.
If research is needed, then i’ll also make time to do so.

Then, often with animation, I’ll first make a few styleframes. Then I’ll either start storyboarding or I’ll go straight to an animatic.
With illustrations, i’ll start sketching and I’ll keep adjusting until the picture looks right to me (and others too if there are other people evolved!)
At this point and the previous one,  it’s okay to make as many mistakes as possible!

Afterwards, with an animation i’ll start making the keyposes, and eventually fully animate it.
With illustrations, i‘ll quickly start rendering.
At this point i’ll check if something needs to be changed/deducted or added.

Then finally, you have the animation rendering phase. This phase i’ll colour in the animation and also compose it.
In all stages I think it is necessary to be able to take feedback and look if things are alright or not.
To be able to take a step back and look at your work in a broad view is important.
